Location: Territory Based – South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia

Reports to: National Sales Manager

Sales Representative: Peter Meier, Inc. is a wholesale distributor servicing the Woodworking, Hospitality, Furniture Seating, and Furniture industries. PMI is not only a sourcing company but also warehouses and inventories products for continual just-in-time fulfillment to meet the customer’s product needs.

An experienced Sales Representative needs to contribute to our company’s sales objectives. Your responsibility includes building long-term client relationships.

As a Sales Representative, you should also use your creativity and knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth. Communication and team-building skills are also essential for this position.

The Sales Representative will be responsible for all existing and potential clients within the territory to maximize and grow sales revenue by selling its products to existing customers and acquiring new business.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of PMI core products by completing the required sales training program. Then, utilize this knowledge to successfully sell
  • Peter Meier, Inc. solutions to new and existing customers in the assigned territory.
  • Point of contact for existing and potential customers within the assigned territory.
  • Identify, isolate, and pursue new customer acquisitions and conduct cold/planned sales calls to develop sales growth.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend product solutions.
  • Present PMI products and services to prospective customers.
  • Work closely with the National Sales Manager and provide sales activity reporting in the structure set by the National Sales Manager.
  • Utilize company CRM program daily capturing sales calls and contacts made, call notes, leads, and opportunities.
  • Answer customer questions about features, pricing, and additional products.
  • Work to meet established goals for sales forecast and target customers.
  • Create and maintain annual sales forecasts to meet or exceed sales revenue.
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (ie: trade shows, distributor open houses)
  • Monitor competition within the assigned territory and provide feedback to the National Sales Manager.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Distributor sales organizations within the territory, setting goals and targets for these organizations.
  • Provide market feedback to the National Sales Manager.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Work experience as a Sales Representative with a proven track record of increasing sales revenue
