Job Description:  Peter Meier, Inc. is a wholesale distributor servicing the Woodworking, Hospitality, Seating and Furniture industries.  At PMI we count on our customer service department to interact professionally with our valued customers when they have questions or concerns.

We’re looking for a highly motivated customer service representative to join our team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can think on their feet and resolve any issues that come up with our customer-first business mentality.

This position has the potential to become a Full-Time Customer Service / Inside Sales opportunity.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Acquire and maintain updated knowledge of all company products and services in order to provide adequate education to customers.
  • Process purchase orders and enter into Epicor software system.
  • Coordinates customers’ orders with the warehouse team for shipping and processing.
  • Ensures all customer pricing is within company guidelines either from correct pricing level or contract, communicating when customers are out of policy guidelines.
  • Communicates with purchasing on customer product requests and inventory availability.
  • Promptly responds to customer questions submitted via email, phone calls or our website.
  • Provide information and instructions about relevant products and services.
  • Posts and handles all customer returns and credit requests (RMA process).
  • Collects credit card information for order processing.
  • Provides price quotes per customer request.
  • Additional duties to support other departments may be required.


Sales Support:

  • Connect customers with sales representatives.
  • Generate interest in new products or services.
  • Processes requests from sales representatives.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school degree.
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening and clear articulation.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and alleviate conflicts or escalate tactfully.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time, and prioritize.
  • Able to work individually and as a team.
